Chuck was an unbeliever who lied to Lionel Washington when Chuck said he was friends with Lionel's mother, Lucinda Washington and that Lionel had relatives in the South who wanted to see him. Chuck used the fake name Nathan Sebring when he lied to Lionel. Unfortunately for Lionel, Chuck's lie caused him to be forcibly sent to a Morale Monitor camp after Chuck and Lionel spent a night at a seedy hotel. At the camp, Lionel would meet future Young Tribulation Force members Conrad Graham and Melinda Bentley.
It is unknown what happened to Chuck after the Wrath Of The Lamb earthquake, if he survived it. If Chuck managed to stay alive another year, he probably would have taken the mark of Carpathia, seeing his connection with the Global Community. It is possible that Chuck became a believer in Christ, but extremely unlikely, given what he did to Lionel.

- Chuck's last name was never revealed.
- It is unknown, but possible, that Chuck may have personally known and possibly even been friends with LeRoy Banks and Cornelius Grey, since it is very likely that either one of them gave the Global Community Lionel's name as a person of interest to join their Morale Monitor camp.
- In the dramatic audio presentation, Chuck is seen interacting with LeRoy Banks at his prison, offering him a deal to reduce his sentence to only 10 years if Banks gave him names for recruits to join the Morale Monitors.
