Colorado is a state in the Midwestern part of the United States, adjoining Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Kansas.

In the Left Behind series, Colorado is the location of a Global Community detention center which Steve Plank, under the pseudonym of Pinkerton Stephens, was in charge of, though as an undercover agent working on behalf of the Tribulation Force. He helped Rayford Steele and Albie rescue Hattie Durham, whom he held in custody, when she had escaped from Buffer. Later on, when Steve Plank was forced by the decree of the Global Community to take the "mark of loyalty" within a certain number of days, Steve chose to be a martyr and allowed himself to be executed at a "mark of loyalty" application center in Colorado.

Colorado was also the state that Rayford Steele and his family had visited years before the Rapture took place, with one of its locations, Red Rocks, being dropped as a hint by his daughter Chloe that he must get the Tribulation Force contingent in San Diego safely to Petra.
