Invulnerability refers to a physical being's ability of not being able to be hurt or damaged by anything in any situation.

In the Left Behind series, at the point where the "sign of the Son of Man" appeared in the sky near the point of Jesus' Second Coming, believers in Jesus were rendered invulnerable to any physical damage inflicted upon them by the Global Community. In the Dramatic Audio, this resulted in Holden accidentally killing his partner Bruno when his bullet passed through George Sebastian's body. Believers that were in their glorified state were also invulnerable to physical attacks along with Jesus Himself.

There are no instances shown as to whether this applies to energy weapons such as DEWs or radiation, or sustained pressure; however, we can presume that this invulnerability extends to fire and pressure waves as shown when earlier on a bomb attack on Petra has little discernible effect.

In Left Behind: World at War, Nicolae Carpathia was invulnerable to President Gerald Fitzhugh's gun as he emptied a clip into him, and also Carpathia was not even harmed by a cruise missile detonating in his office, walking out angry after the building imploded. In The Remnant, while all unbelievers were vulnerable to the heat plague as they would instantly be incinerated once they are directly exposed to the sun, Carpathia was able to enjoy sunbathing during the daytime. Furthermore, those with the seal of God were immune to the destructive force of the heat and used this to their advantage to move freely during the day, while the Global Community was debilitated by the heat.
