"Not even God can sink the Peacekeeper One" - Carl Meninger to John Preston
The Peacekeeper One was a Global Community ship. It was destroyed in the second trumpet judgment. Young Tribulation Force member John Preston was one of the crew members and casualties on this ship. His name was drawn to occupy Peacekeeper One's submarine. John gave his seat to Peacekeeper One crew member Carl Meninger, since Carl wasn't a believer at that time. By enabling Carl to escape and staying behind, John talked about God to the Peacekeeper One crew members that didn't enter the submarine. Some of these people believed. A diver named Jim Pelton was already a believer prior to the second trumpet judgment and John's warning. Just less than an hour later, the ship was destroyed, and all the crew members that were on it were killed.
Inside the submarine, Carl watched on one of the monitors as John talked to everyone on the ship about God. The submarine's skipper forced Carl to turn it off. One of the seven crew members inside the submarine also died because of the meteor, in addition to three of the five hostages that Jim had rescued prior to the judgment. Carl, the other five crew members, and the two hostages all survived but were badly injured. The Global Community kept the story about the Peacekeeper One quiet, most likely because of John talking about God.
Carl would later become a believer and Young Tribulation Force member after speaking with Mark Eisman, John's cousin.
