Phoenix is Ryan Daley's dog. After Ryan's death, Charlie replaced him as Phoenix's owner.

After the Rapture
Ryan Daley found Phoenix when the former was looking for Bibles to stash away. Judd Thompson Jr. disagreed with Ryan's decision to take Phoenix in, but reluctantly changed his mind when Vicki convinced him that this would be good for Ryan. Judd said that the first time Ryan messed up, Phoenix would go.
